This is the second women’s top I have purchased and I also have purchased all three of my children top and bottom sets for Christmas. My loves:
I love the feel of the top and the “clean” natural material. I love the colours. The kids look adorable in these outfits! I was also worried about feeling itchy because I’m super sensitive to wool and I’m happy to report that they are soft with no irritation. And I especially love how the natural quality of wool regulates your body temperature. I am 42 years old and starting to get pretty toasty at night when I sleep; lately I have been waking drenched in sweat…until I discovered that if I wear my women’s top to bed I have no night sweats!! Absolutely divine! A literal cure for hot and uncomfortable nights when I wear this top.
However, my negative, and it’s a big one:
Both of my women’s tops and all of my children’s outfits all have holes. I really wish the material was longer lasting for this price. My husband is super annoyed that I dropped a pretty penny on getting us all fancy-dancy Merino wool outfits and they are riddled with holes and we constantly have to sew or patch them. Like, constantly.
My son had holes in the knees with only one day of wearing them (my roughest child, mind you)…but then even my eldest child who is 11 years old and doesn’t crawl around on his knees got holes shortly after. And then my third child. Then the sleeve on my shirt. And this is with washing them in laundry bags or on a gentle cycle. All within two months, we all had holes.
Then I ordered my second shirt because I had such success with the night sweats and it was worth it to me to get that kind of relief at night. Same thing: within a month or so another small hole has appeared.
So overall, I have a love/hate relationship. I’ll order them from now on for myself simply because they are a godsend for night sweats, but I can’t justify spending that kind of money on three children anymore for clothes that don’t last.
